Board of Trustees

Overview

The Board of Trustees oversees the finances, assets, and personnel of the church and helps secure funds to meet church expenses. Board responsibilities include managing facilities for services and activities; managing church transportation; collecting tithes and offerings; raising and disbursing funds; managing investments, gifts, and bequests; negotiating contracts; overseeing capital improvements; and managing the church office and church-owned facilities.

The Board of Trustees, which includes the church disbursing officer, works closely with the church treasurer and budget committee to oversee and report on the finances of the church.

The board sponsors two major events annually.

  • Trustee Rally Day is held In May to express gratitude to the church family for its generous support, raise funds for special building projects, and highlight the board’s yearly activities.
  • The Rosemary and John H. Brinkley Memorial Golf Tournament raises funds for selected church projects and ministries. The tournament, which is believed to be one of the largest African American sponsored golf tournaments in the area, is held at Enterprise Golf Course in Mitchellville, Md.
