Progressive Adults Ministry

The Progressive Adults Ministry was formed in the 1950s to keep young adults, ages 30 and older, involved in the life of the church. Over the years it has evolved into a fellowship that focuses its efforts on maintaining a connection with the young church members attending colleges and trade schools. This outreach is known as the Love Pal Program.

Ministry members, working as mentors, invest their time and energy in engaging and supporting a college student for the duration of their college career. The Love Pal Program carries with it a quarterly stipend for the student to help defray expenses. It recently celebrated 30 years of service to the young adults of our church.

The stipends are financed by a robust theatergoers fundraiser program that invites church members and friends to attend local productions in theaters throughout the Washington metropolitan area.

The ministry also hosts a Lenten season Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner in February, co-chairs the Youth Sunday Program that spotlights all June graduates, and donates to churchwide fundraising campaigns.

We invite all members interested in making an imprint on future generations of our church to join us on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
