Media Ministry

The Media Ministry engages various means of audio/visual technology and social media platforms to project, enhance, and record the church’s worship experiences for our members and to expand our presence in the larger community.

Media Booth, Roman Holton

Currently, we Livestream our worship service and Bible study on the church’s YouTube channel (19thstreetbc.org YouTube Channel) and on Facebook Live (19thstreetbc.org Facebook Page).

The ministry’s major activities include:

  • Installation of wide-area (Wi-Fi) network antennas to improve Wi-Fi connections throughout the building.
  • Installation of flat-screen smart TVs in both board rooms, the chapel, and the office hallway.
  • Installation of additional speakers in the sanctuary to eliminate hard-to-hear areas.
  • Installation of new digital soundboard and speakers in the fellowship hall.
  • Set-up of smart TV on a portable stand to be used where needed.
  • Creation of a Periscope account for Livestream events.
  • Creation of a YouTube account to Livestream worship services.
  • Acquisition of additional professional-grade cordless microphones for choir use in the sanctuary.
  • Acquisition of a new digital soundboard for the sanctuary.

The Media Ministry years ago began recording Sunday morning worship service on cassette tapes. Later, a CD player was acquired to record Sunday service and the ministry made recordings available on cassette or CD. Soon, a camera was installed in the sanctuary. To address inconsistent sound quality in the sanctuary and the fellowship hall, along with wanting to expand overall media capabilities, the church purchased additional media/sound equipment, including needed wiring and software.

Volunteers are encouraged to join us and training is provided. For questions, please see a member of the team or contact the church office at 202-829-2773.
