Brinkley Memorial Golf Tournament

Booker Memorial 2019 golfers including Pastor Roberts, Karen Williamson, and Gerald Young

The Rosemary & John H. Brinkley Golf Tournament is an annual event that celebrates Brother Brinkley’s years of dedicated service to God and the Nineteenth Street Baptist Church. It supports various church ministries and projects. The 23rd annual tournament was held at the Enterprise Golf Course in Mitchellville, Md., on Monday, June 24, 2019.

The tournament has been very successful due to the generosity of members, donors, sponsors, and friends. We are very grateful for your contributions. The funds assist church organizations such as the Youth Ministry, Church School, and Community Block Party, as well as capital improvement projects. We actively seek people of all ages to participate in this wonderful day of great fellowship, fun, and food. Many churches and organizations enter teams to compete for golf prizes and gifts. We welcome golfers of all levels and the “best ball” format used for this event enables teams to succeed regardless of the individual level of play. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

The committee also seeks youngsters between the ages of 8-17 to participate in the National “First Tee” Junior Golf Program. This 8-week program is instructed by the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) and is designed to assist with the development of junior golfers within the metro area. Instructional classes will be held on Saturday mornings at the Enterprise Golf Course and transportation will be provided by the church. We will be seeking church members to sponsor and mentor participants. The cost of instruction and golf clubs/equipment will be approximately $300 per student. More info concerning this enriching program will be forthcoming.
